Aaaahh the golden days of Apple Macintosh computers. My family had many over the 80s and 90s, and I have fond memories of them all. These included:
- Macintosh 512k
- Macintosh SE/30
- Macintosh Quadra 800
- … and my first major technology purchase with my own hard earned dollars, the Power Macintosh Power PC 6100/60AV
Between games of Frogger, Spaceship Warlock, and Marathon, or while not browsing AOL, our computers’ screens were saved by After Dark’s awesome screensaver package.
Today I decided to relive the glory days. Combining a CSS recreation of After Dark’s screensavers and an open-source, OS X WebView screensaver, I’ve got exactly what I was after: flying toasters and fish tanks for when my computer is inactive, all for free.
Try it out for yourself:
